Configure Your 3CX App

On your laptop or desktop computer, you need to click the link to your company phone system.  There, you will see a login screen OR a change password screen.  If you are being requested to change your password, please do that now.   Otherwise, use your extension number and password to log in.

After you log in, at the top right corner of the screen you will see the following items.  Click on the tiny QR Code symbol next to the telephone symbol.

 

This will open up a window with writing and a QR Code that looks similar to this:

 

After you have this window open and ready, to configure your 3CX App to connect to your company telephone system, follow these steps:

In the Apple App store search for “3cx.”  (If you have Android, search for 3cx in the Play store.)

 

Look for these two Apps in the list:

 

Download and install the 3CX App.  You should also download and install the 3CX Video Conference App to use for company video conferences.

 

Open the newly installed 3CX App and allow the various permissions and notifications that it requests.

 

Agree to the License/Terms.

 

Allow 3CX to access your microphone.  This is necessary because it is used for telephone calls.

 

When you see this screen, swipe left or tap the right arrow key “>” in the bottom right corner.

 

Click on the blue button which says:  “SCAN QR CODE.”

 

Allow the 3CX App to access your camera in order to scan the QR Code.

 

Point the camera to your laptop or desktop screen where you already have the QR Code displayed.  It should take only 1-2 seconds.  If it is successful, your screen should look like this:

 

Congratulations!  You have installed and configured your mobile 3CX App to use your company telephone system.

If for some reason the QR Code did not work, you can hit the Refresh button in the QR Code screen on your laptop or desktop.  This will generate a new QR Code.  You can try again.
